It has emerged that Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson sought the advice of former Prime Minister Tony Blair over what to do about troubled striker Wayne Rooney.
And, according to sources, the ex PM told Sir Alex to pander to Rooney's every demand and let him do whatever he wanted.
The striker has courted controversy recently over his attempts to leave United, leading to him being branded by many as a "tosser".
However, Ferguson was quick to take Blair's advice and Rooney has now signed a new contract.
Afterwards, Rooney was quoted as saying: "I'm in charge now."
