The notorious manager of a prestigious gambling establishment in Las Vegas was bewildered when he was faced with an offer to share the proceeds of the house winner late on Saturday night. The lucky winner was a gangster from the ghettos of St. Louis, who claimed he was only playing poker in this high-profile establishment to “make some friends, you know?” and “to impress the ladies”.
He offered to split the winnings equally with the casino house “to extend the hand of friendship” and to ensure no hard feelings with the dealer who “was just standing in the way of my fist. It affected his vision, you know? He thought he was seeing all kinds of cards then”.
He also invited the manager, KH Slater, to play poker in the ghettos sometime. “We’re just about sharing the love, you know? I mean, you’d be giving me your money if you ever came to my hood, you know what I’m saying?” He also indicated his associates would be more than happy to take Slaters' 3 month old Lexus off his hands, or at least just replace the wheels and assorted engine parts, free of cost.
