The next generation of automatic switchboards has been announced, offering a more personal approach to queuing for attention. Callers will be invited to discuss with a computer how highly they qualify for priority for their position in the queue. The system, called “Autotriage” has been given limited trials is expected to be initially launched on the public via a public sexual health phone service before the Christmas party season. However some critics, involved in early trials have suggested that the apt name is a combination of auto and rage.
