Hot on the heels of the recent events in Chile involving the 33 trapped miners, ITV are to bring out a new reality TV show that will involve 33 celebrities to be stuck down a mine shaft for six weeks.
The format of the show will slightly differ from that of their existing 'i'm a celebrity get me out of here' as the most popular celebs as voted for by the public at home will come out first leaving the least popular ones behind in the shaft.
Everyday Ant and Dec will be descended into the shaft to announce to the light deprived half starved celeb's which one of them will be released from the hole and just to make it even more intolerable down there for the remaining ones the geordie pair will be staying with them until the celebs can complete certain tasks correctly.
Some of the tasks will involve surviving mine shaft floods or gas attacks and some of the other tasks will go under ominous headings like rat attack, happy coal eater and pit pony peril which will involve the celeb carrying a sack of rubble through a very narrow tunnel dressed in a pantomine horse costume.
Various celebrities have already registered an interest in appearing in the show but producers have warned them of the dangers of claustrophobia as some of the applicants can expect a good long stay down there with Piers Morgan, Katie Price, Ulrika Jonson and Timmy Mallet being tipped to go the whole distance.
