David Camerons "Big Society" has claimed its first victim after 43 year old plumber Colin Smith from Aldridge in the west midlands died while attempting to remove his own Appendix.His widow Jayne said she was "gutted" (although not quite as much as Colin)
"He only wanted to take control of his own life and be self reliant,do his civil duty by trying to save the NHS a few quid"

The last plumber who worked at my house left a small jar with a handwritten label saying, 'silly-cone greece'. Not really a joke, but rather a comment on shocking literacy. Ladies and gentlemen, that's why plumbing should be a degree level subject.

Apparently, he took out his appendix ok, but needed a new blank, to seal it off which was out of stock of course
