A plane carrying 18 passengers including journalist/broadcaster Julia Hartley-Brewer and her family has crashed over the Atlantic confirmed the Reuter news agency.
Emergency crews say they have recovered a number of bodies from the scene of the accident and as yet have found no survivors.
The long haul flight left Heathrow early this morning and was on its way somewhere posh and expensive when air control received a Mayday distress signal from the pilot.
The pilot said the aircraft had run into trouble midway across the Atlantic after flying into a flock of Laysan Albatross.
Dave Young from the American Bird Conservancy said the aircraft and passengers had been incredibly unlucky as the Laysan Albatros is high on the endangered species list and there are thought to be only a handful left in the wild.
As the aircraft headed for the rolling ocean waves it is thought the pilot attempted to make a crash landing on the choppy waters but somehow veered off course and flew straight into an iceberg that had drifted down from the Arctic circle.
Iceberg expert Warren Stephens said the aircraft and passengers had been incredibly unlucky as icebergs rarely reach this far south before melting in the warmer waters.
After hitting the iceberg the passengers were thrown into the sea. But luck was not on their side as the stricken holiday makers had landed in a colony of box jelly-fish. Rescuers say most of the passengers died after becoming entangled in the jellyfish tentacles and succumbing to their deadly wasp-like sting.
Jellyfish expert Ross Gerrard said the passengers had been incredibly unlucky as this species of jellyfish is rarely found this far north but because of global warming and rising sea temperatures, the changing conditions now made it possible for such creatures to survive in Atlantic waters.
But video evidence showed that Hartley-Brewer had survived the crash and managed to climb onto the iceberg before the jellyfish reached her.
But luck was not on her side as it seems a starving polar bear had also managed to climb on board the iceberg soon after it had broken away from the main polar ice sheet
Polar bear expert Jason Beesley said Hartley-Brewer had been incredibly unlucky to encounter the polar bear as most would have starved to death on the long journey from the North Pole.
It appears Harley-Brewer was recording the bear attack on her camera phone seconds before the polar bear attacked and killed her…..
Moments earlier the journalist was seen waving frantically to a young girl as she passed close by in a yacht.
Video images from Hartley-Brewer's camera phone show the young girl waving back

We are very lucky to have JHB as a counter voice to the trendy lefty orthodoxy and you should ashamed of yourself for mocking her in this fashion. Having said that I am sorry that the format of this site doesn't allow me to award you 10 stars - so you'll just have to make do with half that number.

Love the way this builds up. It was Banks who made the comment about Thunberg having a freak accident tho not JHB? Altho if I've missed something the latter said i can't say I'm bothered...
