It was revealed today that the South American miners who have been trapped deep underground for weeks owe their plight to a cruel hoax by a TV prankster. Argentine game-show host and Jeremy Beadle fan Juan Atatime posted fake job adverts in local newspapers for Chilli miners, and was overwhelmed by the response. "I couldn't believe my luck" he said. A spokesman for the miners, speaking in a muffled voice, said "how were we supposed to know that chillies grow on plants above ground? When Senor Atatime lead us to the tunnel and offered us 1 dollar for 50 green or 70 red ones, we thought it was easy money. We're so angry... when the press say we'll be coming up 'one at a time', they're not kidding". He continued, "When this is over, I'm off to Europe - I've been offered a job as a ploughman on a fish farm near Inverness".

Another angle on this would be that they aren't actually underground at all - the whole affair is set up to trick the world. Meanwhile, the miners are living it up at a secret location.

Nice idea, Sinnick. Perhaps they're holed-up (sorry) in the same Trinidadian luxury resort as all the British coal miners, who've convinced everyone that they're drinking themselves to premature death in rancid, declining pit villages in t'North. By all means, see if you can get something out of this.
@IABP - nice one!Posted 2 years ago # -
It's a huge hoax. They're actually on a secret base on the Moon.
