According to a recent scientific study, the way to avoid mosquito bites is to listen to electronic music, specifically dubstep. However, the researchers also concluded that most people would rather be bitten by blood-sucking insects than have their ears and their sensibilities painfully assaulted by tuneless screeching.
The research involved subjecting adult mosquitos to Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites by US artist Skrillex to see whether the so-called music could work as a repellent. It found that female adult mosquitoes were 'entertained' by the track and attacked hosts later and less often than those in a dubstep-free environment. The human subjects on the other hand, were not entertained in the least, and attacks on the sound system to stop the dreadful noise were earlier and more frequent than for every other music genre.
The scientists also found that mosquitoes exposed to the unholy row had sex 'far less often' than mosquitoes without sound. This result appears to be strongly related to the experience of human teenagers who get someone back to their place and then put Skrillex on the hi-fi.
