After twenty-five years of supporting his local corner shop, Mick Miller is throwing in the towel and taking his business to Tesco.
'I've had enough,' said a bitter Mr Miller. 'For all those years I thought I was being loyal to my local corner shop and resisting the lure of the big supermarkets. Then I suddenly realized it isn't even a corner shop. It's in the middle of the terrace. I was devastated I can tell you.'
Mr Miller admits he was seduced by the 'corner' shop's prices which were higher than the supermarkets and by the lack of choice. 'And Mr and Mrs Williams were a bit disorganized which was nice, with stuff being all over the shop, so to speak. I'll miss all that, of course. But I'm not supporting a corner shop that isn't even on a corner.'
