New research published by the Office of National Statistics reveals that up to 1.5% of British men prefer soccer to rugby. A spokesman for the FA, Mr. P. Tatchell, said "we think that the actual number is far higher, but it's just that people are embarrassed to admit it". He continued, "levels of bigotry against soccer fans continue to be under-reported; after all, it's still very hard to come out to your mother as a soccer fan, so you can only imagine what how difficult it is to tell an anonymous researcher, especially if he's 6'4" tall, 18 stone and wearing a 'Saracens' shirt.

More like, it's a bit embarrassing to admit you're a rugby union fan, if you live on the M62 corridor.

On the map it's marked as a motorway between Liverpool and Hull, which explains why it's only corridor; who would want to go to either of those toilets?

Anyhow, whoever said that soccer is a game of homosexuality played by homosexuals for homosexuals perhaps had not quite grasped enough of the actual situation to make a thorough analysis of soccer's demographic potential.

Stow on the Wold? Utterly proletarian these days. As for soccerists, what they do in the privacy of their own homes is their business. They still shouldn't be allowed to marry or adopt children, though.

Soccer is what rugby snobs and ignorant Yanks call it. It's called football. We call rugby rugby.

Not, dear Oxbridge, if you went to the correct school.
