Organisers of this years Winter Olympics in Vancouver have lauded the event as the cleanest in games history. Viewers will not have failed to notice the special measures that have been put into place including:
- Sweeping of the downhill ski slope using large brooms inbetween competitor runs
- Curling lane broomed down by two officials during each stone delivery
- Use of a street cleaning vehicle to gather litter before each ice arena event
London 2012 committee members have taken particular interest in this regime and will look to implement similar measures for the forthcoming summer games.
