Rapper-turned-preacher MC Hammer - real name Stanley Kirk Burrell - was last night said to be in a stable condition, a day after it was confirmed that a Kent man had succeeded in Touching This.
Structural engineer Roger Foot, of Maidstone, expressed delight that years of hard work had been rewarded with favourable peer-review.
Like Marshmallow
"It's not something you can do overnight," Mr. Foot explained. "Nearly twenty years' hard work, ever since Hammer first threw down the gauntlet and postulated that it couldn't be done. It's been a labour of love. My wife might call it an obsession" he joked, before expressing his sympathies to MC Hammer and wishing the preacher-turned-reality-tv-producer a swift recovery. He also confirmed earlier press reports that This "feels squashy, like marshmallow".
A spokesman for Hammer accepted that Mr. Foot had succeeded in touching This, but issued a warning. "Mr. Hammer is convalescing well, but we ask no further attempts of this kind be made. He remains in shock, and feels almost violated".
Mr. Foot, however, claims he is too legit to quit now.
