Cars powered by highly-explosive hydrogen. Hmm. Hydrogen produced using vast amounts of electricity. Hmm. Electricity produced by coal-fired power stations. Ahh, I understand now. We're trying to avoid those.
Not my wittiest comment, arguably.

But the power stations have nasty emissions.
It's like the argument for biofuel. "green" fuel comes from palm-nuts. Palm-nuts come from plantations. Plantations replace native forest. Not so green now, are we ?
Or the argument for freetrade products such as coffee & banana - great for the people, but also from ex-forest.
This isn't humorous, right ?

And even tidal power isn't even green. The more energy we take out of the tides, the more likely the moon is to stop rotating, or possibly it will even start going backwards.

And you can see the wind farm propellers slow down when everybody puts their kettle on in the morning.
