   Personally, I was a little surprised to find this ... yes, it's the Official Papal Visit Online Store, courtesy the Catholich Trust for England and Wales.

   I'm particularly smitten with the section offering religious artifacts but I was thoroughly disappointed, having had a quick browse, to have not found any grails or shrouds for sale.

   C'est la vie.

   I was looking for a sacred heart squeaking bath toy, but they didn't have one. Bloody typical.

   My mother, who is a practising catholic (you'd have thought she'd have mastered it by now), tells me her congregation got a telling off by the priest for not buying enough tickets for the Papal visit. Looks like it promises to be disaster.

    And the branding stuff is not at all what I imagined. Nor could I find any of those opus dei barbed wire garter things. Mrs MrChigleysAunt will not have the birthday surprise I hoped to give her.

    Stunts, love "paypal".

    I don't know if they have anything similar in Britain, but in the US we have a kind of combo matching band/cheerleading/wooden gun carrying event whose groups are called "drill teams". To describe it, a bunch of girls in scanty outfits march in military formation twirling, throwing and catching woooden guns instead of batons. You could not make this "sport" up.

    So the teams have names like Our Lady Queen of Peace High School Military Drill Team.

    When I was a boy, my Catolic high school's team was national champion.
