I'm with our barking American friend on this. Well written it may be, but in my opinion it crosses a line of appropriateness.

I liked it, and that's all that matters.

My first draft had implied cannibalism and human sacrifice too, but I took them out. That was partly an editorial decision (keep it simple), but also a feeling of it being inappropriate.
So that shows that I have lines I don't want to cross too.
Then, I guess, it boils down to where is that line, and whose line is it anyway...

There have been a lot worse on NB how would Nick Cleegg and his family feel if they saw some of the stuff written wbout them ? in Russia Putin has them shot

I think it's generally agreed that politicians are fair game, as they are empowered and privileged and so on, so most attacks are OK. Like JP, I would draw the line at using a politician's miscarriages or a handicapped child as fodder, unless the politician in question has used their retarded baby as political capital. (Sarah Palin?)

Selwyn Gummer stuffing a hamburger down his daughter's throat at the height of the BSE scare.

I would say there's a follow up story to that pinxit. Where is she now etc
She could be a contestant on the X factor - seems to be full of nutty women lately.
Or big brother - seems to be full of nutty women lately.
Or anywhere really - because the world seems to be full of nutty women lately.Posted 2 years ago # -

I wouldn't.

When ted Heath failed to get on the train in time, that was a Politician's misscarriage.

It's all too Ace in the Hole for me.
As long as those chileans are down that mineshaft, Rikkor has got the moral high ground.

Stoopy, I love ya like a fat kid loves cake.

"Rikkor has got the moral high ground."
Wow, that must be a first around here. What's the view like from there Rikkor? Can you see into the bathroom window of that fit girl accross the street?
Posted 2 years ago # -
Yes, but I have to stand on the toilet and hoist myself up with two hands, which kind of kills the whole thing.

This conjures up rather disturbing images.

Stop resurrecting old subs. Now!
Oh, I liked the "I left the iron on" Chilean miner sub. But, that was after they were rescued.
Posted 2 years ago # -
Don't think the "I left the iron on" sub would have worked if they were still down there, tbh.
Notice the small cage they used to rescue them?
That was so they could bring them up Juan by Juan....I'll get me coat.
Posted 2 years ago # -
I just hope they remembered to clock out, or they won't get any overtime
Posted 2 years ago # -
Did you notice their homes? They seem to live inside cages.
No wonder they didn't feel trapped.Posted 2 years ago # -
Lovely to see one of my old FPs in the archive slot. I think I enjoyed the post FP fight even more than the actual piece though.

Maybe we should have a section for 'Rows & Flounces etc From The Archives'

Thank God Its Out, it's been trapped for a year down there......

I can't believe the stuff I wrote in this sub. What an angry not-too-young man I was. Kinda voice of his generation-ish.
