A coroner warned of the dangers of allowing limescale build up in domestic appliances after a Brighton woman took her own life. An engineer made the shocking discovery and then it was only a matter of time before friends and neighbours found out leaving her no choice.
Her husband (who didn't want to be named) said 'You think you know someone and they let you down in this way.' Police warned that if people didn't Calgon in their wash they would be caught out in the end.
Calgon (a subsidiary of Southern Water) takes out the chalk the water company add to the domestic supply. It is thought to account for 99% of their profits.
