TV bosses in the US have apologised after preview clips of the Teletubbies were accidentally played out on two adult TV channels.
A Time Warner Cable (TWC) spokesman said a "technical glitch" was to blame for the mistake, which lasted two hours in parts of North Carolina on Tuesday.
The company was made aware of the error after parents called in to report it, having tuned in to the Playboy TV channel and instead been confronted with Tinky-Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po.
Jim-Bob Tanner, a resident of Crook River, said "Well, I was settling down with my sister's cousin's aunt and flicked to channel 202 on the cable, expecting to see our usual afternoon adult entertainment, and instead we saw these wierd little fellas wanderin' round with giant rabbits. Well, we were lookin' forward to some kinky action with the Noo-Noo guy."
However, Jim-Bob was to be disappointed: "after an hour or so, nothin' good was happening and then I noticed this red one, Tinky Winky, was a guy but with a handbag, so he's some sorta gay. I ain't puttin' up with that in my trailer, so I shot the TV, and called my lawyer, 'cos I is traumatised"
A spokesman for TWC apologised to customers affected by the mistake, and promised that no more offensive content would be broadcast in the afternoon hours, and confirming that Taste it, Don't Waste it 7 would be back in it's usual time slot tomorrow.
