Call me controversial but I think a team that a lot of so called commentators have written off this season will do better, if only slightly, than expected this season. It's impossible to say which team that will be from this early stage of the premier league; it could well be one of the newly promoted teams, of which there were three, coming from maelstrom of the championship into the maelstrom of the premier league. It really is a different league, and will take some adjusting too, no doubt, and its highly likely that one or two of the new boys could struggle at some point during the season. Most likely at the start, or end maybe, unless we see a mid season slump. Remember, you read it hear first.
But hey, enough about the minnows, right! Everyone's been asking me who will win the league this year and that's an easy one for me; I think you're looking to one of the London clubs for sure, although you can't rule out Liverpool who could do it. And Man United should never be written off at this stage. I always like to say that 'the odds don't lie' and that's never been truer than for the Barclays Premier 2010/11 season, although of course most the odds will be adjusted throughout the season. Whatever happens we should know the answer by the end of May (or first week of June) and I know who I'll be putting money on!
"What about Europe?" I hear you asking. Well, that's a tough one and we can't take it for granted that us Brits will dominate the cups there this year, although we might and I have a sneaky suspicion that we definitely will. But there are clubs from other countries who will have a say in that I'm sure! French and Spanish clubs will have teams who might do well. And you can never write off the Germans, or the Spanish. Italian teams are a dark horse, or in some peoples books a favourite, or an underdog. But I'm not so sure; expect some of those other so called experts to have eggs on their face at some point this year, or next.
Wigan will not win the FA Cup this year, I just can't see it and it's definitely worth a punt.
