Terrible child actors Blake O’Leary and Charlie Jones have confirmed that they will be starring in a new show together since both announcing they are quitting playing the character of Ben in their respective soaps.
Fans of the artistically challenged youngsters will be breathing a sigh of relief as they take their awful performances to exciting new levels.
Blake (Neighbours’ Ben Fitzgerald) and Charlie (Eastenders’ Ben Mitchell) are to star in a new kids show called The Bens - a play on words to reflect how crazy and madcap they are and which also serves to mirror the feeling of nausea you get while experiencing The Bends.
The show will focus on the two living their dream of attending dance school (even though they are boys); both having shown considerable (shit) dancing talents in their former programmes. Louie Spence is in talks to appear in a regular guest slot.
O’Leary says he looking forward to bringing his awkward brand of ‘acting’ to new audiences and is keen to see how colleagues will cope desperately trying to act opposite him; a problem that fellow Neighbours’ actors have been facing for the last three years. Likewise Jones is said to be excited about the prospect of continuing his insipid take on a male teenager struggling to fit in to an ever more macho world once he has finally bowed out of the long-running British soap this year to be replaced by an older better actor.
The programme will have a dance/fitness DVD tie in aimed at kids called ‘Ben-a-Fit’ as part of a new venture to help tackle the ongoing problem of child obesity.
