Two government press adverts which used nursery rhymes to raise awareness of climate change have been banned by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA).
It said the advertisements went beyond mainstream scientific consensus in asserting that climate change would cause flooding and drought.
Climate Change Secretary Ed Miliband said the ads should have been "phrased better" but defended the campaign.
"Yes, it was full of lies, and this has now been seen to be the case. They were good lies, however, and were made with the best of intentions, so I don't see the problem. Everyone was happy when we told them lies about the economy, so I would encourage them to think of this in the same way"
The text of one of the adverts ran "Rub a dub dub/three men in a tub/where they now live because of flash flooding/caused by you, you capitalist scum"
