Due to no records found for any planning permission made by the Ancient Egyptians the City Council of Cairo have been forced to order the destruction of their countries most famous buildings.
'Rules are rules' explained Council representative Barak Abdullamuleaspanker ' just last week we refused permission for a new Tandorri Restaurant to be built in the city and the owner queried as to why he could not build his new Achmed's curry house. He quite rightly pointed out that he would bet any money that Tutankaman would never have had this hassle when building the Pyramids'.
On the strength of that Mr Abdullamuleaspanker went about trawling the planning archives for any planning application made by the former Egyptian Prince but could came up with nothing which has subsequently triggered the order to destroy the famous monuments.
Work is now well under way and the Pyramids that have stood for thousands of years have almost been levelled thanks to petty council red tape. Ironically it has since come to light that Achmed's restaurant planning application has since been approved under appeal and will be built within the month.
