‘The Grouse Beaters have won every year so far.’ Said Pete Peckham the Grouse team captain, who plays on the wing. ‘In fact we normally get slaughtered, but me and the lads are game for a good match and feel the opposition have become over confident in the last couple of hundred fixtures. We’ve been training hard not to get in a flap and if we can change our tactics to attacking towards the opposition rather than away from it I think we’re in with a good chance.
Pete thinks the attitude of the crowd is vital.‘As long as the spectators behave themselves and don’t get drunk, then start firing missiles at us, like they’d done in the past, we fully expect to be playing the Grouse Losers this time next year.’ He said

Perhaps David Peckham would be more direct, especially with his alleged retirement having been announced. And surely that irritating phrase "Duck or Grouse" can play a part.

Thanks but it's just a headline that went on a bit. I didn't know nuffin about David when I wrote it, Mr Nick, and thought Pete had more to do with moors. I don't think I've ever heard this irritating phrase of yours. What's that all about then?
