Well David Cameron has certainly raised a few eyebrows with his inventive approach to tackling debt and international statesmanship. But the Spanish are giving it some serious hooah after he approached them with a proposal to redevelop the Costa del Sol into the Costa Del Social.
Cameron proposes that under EU legislation UK Citizens are legally able to claim benefits anywhere within the EU, taking into account the deserted apartments, bars and beaches in Spain as a result of the recession he suggests that benefit claimants would be better of there. He thinks they would appreciate the warm weather, the cheap beer and wine the abundance of activities to pass the time. He said "Let us all face facts, a huge number of people in the UK spend their days either sitting around getting smashed, sleeping or being a nuisance, this way they get some fresh air and the Spanish get their economy moving again..."
