The government has had to apologise today after one minister likened the cut in funding for domestic violence charities as a 'slap in the face'. No-one was available to comment but the minister in question issued the following statement, "I am extremely sorry for any upset caused. I have no idea what happened, I just said it in the heat of the moment and it will never happen again...promise".
There are calls for the minister to quit his post, however sources close to him are appealing for him to be given one more chance.

In many ways it's their own fault - here's me up to my eyeballs in stress, and then I have to listen to their constant bloody moaning. But I do love them. I can change. I'll try harder"

...but we overheard him say, as he got into the car without having first returned his collar microphone: "....bloody asking for it, actually. Whingeing, always popping up with some baked over statistics linking domestic abuse with the party's major sources of funding and then what. Begging for it. Given a chance I'd not only slap their bloody faces but kick them right where the sun don't shine....."

When asked to confirm these comments by our kerbside reporter, he wound up the window and the car sped away.

...I don't mean that!!! Of course I don't mean that...I'm sorry...it's just...I love you too much! That's what it is...when I see you out there [receiving charitable donations] off other people something just snaps...I think you don't need me any more...but I understand...it's OK...I know I was in the wrong...come on, [government funding and domestic abuse charities] were good together, weren't we? We had some good times, yeah? There's that smile...
