A musical celebrating the lives of Ray Allen and Lord Charles will open on Broadway next year, it has been announced.

"Silly Arse" will be produced by Sir Cameron MacIntosh and Lord Andrew LLoyd Webber, on the back of their 2004 success "I hate that duck!" a musical tribute to the outstanding talents of Roger De Courcey and Nookie Bear.

The musical was originally staged at the Cleethorpes Playhouse in 2008 and featured songs such as "La'ies and Gen'lmen I'm going to show it to you" and the Classic FM chart-topper "I hurt me thumb last time I did that".

The Broadway cast has yet to be announced but it is rumoured that the part of Ray Allen will be played by Nathan Lane. Tom Cruise is bookies' favourite to play Lord Charles, although Cruise's agent is keeping tight-lipped about it.
