'I did didn't I, Barry?'</p> <p>The statement was eventually verified by Barry Higgins, an independent witness at The Dog and Duck, once he had returned from the Gents.</p> <p>Though clearly one of Britain's keenest political analysts, Head has distanced himself from the Westminster Village, which he says helps him maintain his integrity. It's a stance that has won him plenty of admirers. But, says Head, his stance has provoked many in The Establishment and it's only a matter of time before The Powers That Be attempt to have him assasinated. That's why he drinks, he explained.</p> <p>The remarkable coalition pact between the conservatives and the liberals, which seemingly took all the major political parties by surprise, was 'obvious innit', he argued. Indeed, though none of the party leaders seemed to have prepared for the eventuality of a hung parliament, Head said he could have told them what to do, if only they'd asked. But they wouldn't have been able to handle what he was going to tell them, he said.</p> <p>It's not difficult to imagine why Head frightens the establishment. Some of his radical observations could conventional thought to its foundations. According to Head, Britain's politians are all the bleeding same. It's for this reason, he explained, that he refuses to share any further visions of the future - even though Head's intelligence could probably steer his country through a period of uncertainty. 'If they came down here and asked me what to do about the cuts in public spending and that, I'd tell 'em to piss off,' he concluded. 'I said, I'd tell 'em to piss off. Wouldn't I Barry?'</p> <p>Barry confirmed that he would tell any fact finding senior governmental advisors to piss off. </p>
