The Friends of Green Earthpiece and various other paranoid Eco-Groups praised Waitrose for getting their priorities right.

"I suppose there is always a proportion of hair, fur, hooves, trotters, wool, floor-sweepings, toenail clippings, dogs, cats, insects, rats, dingos, illegal immigrants, homeless layabouts and drug-raddled, antibiotic-filled horses in most meat products. But that seems to have been common practice for decades and is probably harmless as it seems to have had no ill-effect whatever on consumers" said a spokesman.

"But GM food is a different matter altogether since it is bound to lead to everyone growing two heads and mutant monsters taking over the world."
