In the 1980s i regularly frequented a couple of comedy clubs in London and the most common subject then was Tory bashing in particular Thatcher,but for most people my age 46 the 1980s was the best time of our lives and that included all those comedians. The comedians who didn't just go on about thatcher all the time as a rule had longer careers eg Harry Hill, Fry and Lorrie, Jo Brand, Ainsley Harriet ( yes he was in a double act the calypso twins )John Hegley, Jack Dee and many more, If as much energy was put into Blair bashing maybe we would all be better off now.
