Television presenter Julia Bradbury is reported to be preparing for a walk from her home down to her local Waitrose.

'It's Julia's most ambitious project so far,' said a BBC Television spokeswoman.

Bradbury, who has walked Britain's canal, railway and Lake District paths, as well as walking in Germany, South Africa and Iceland, is said to be nervous about the trek down the high street to her local shops.

'She's working on choosing a fashionable anorak and the sturdy walking boots she'll need,' the spokeswoman said,'as well as a nice woolly hat.'

But television commentators are said to be sceptical that Bradbury has the stamina for the two-hundred metre walk with a television crew following around Iceland - and a six-part long television series.
