Following the release of his plans to radically change the A-Level exams Education Minister Michael Gove has dismissed claims that he wrote the bill in just one day while relying on information he got two years previous.

Gove said that the final document was written over many months, and went through many drafts with David Cameron checking it every few weeks to, 'make sure we got it right.' At one stage they threw the whole thing in the bin because they thought they had made a mistake. The Prime Minister compared it to course work.

The minister said, 'The accusation that this was all done in just one day is shocking. There are too many variables that can affect the outcome if it all came down to my performance over a few hours. What if I'm having a bad day? What if I'm sick? Or had trouble getting to the venue? To expect someone to do something so important in one sitting is really unfair.'
