I'm staying at home in case a helicopter crashes into the office.

You'd think the train would've been emptier this morning with all the recreational users of the 07:27 Surbiton to Waterloo sitting this one out at home - the joy-riders figuring their journey wasn't essential, but if anything it was fuller...

...perhaps because they pre-emptively cancelled half the trains due to the snow which is expected to fall any minute...

@c-h: "While I'm at it, what's with yellow, amber, red as a system of warnings? "

I'd like to know the answer too. At 'amber' are we supposed to stay indoors or rush out quickly to stock up on tinned food & bottled water? If the different levels of 'alert' mean something wouldn't it be sensible for the great British public to be in on the secret?

And does getting to work constitute an 'essentail journey' - the only recommended trip at times? Do we remain at home and then get the sack for not turning up?

Right, back to bed with another cup of tea I think

It's a gay thing I think. Something to do with handkerchiefs in back pockets but the Met Office don't use a whole rainbow for fear of being outed.
