The famous Lincoln biscuit seems likely to receive the accolade it deserves with Steven Spielberg’s seminal film, ‘Lincoln the Biscuit’ nominated for 7 Golden Globes and a string of Baftas.

Also starring two-time Academy Award winner Daniel Day-Lewis as biscuit factory boss Abraham McVitie, the film is a revealing drama that focuses on the Lincoln’s tumultuous rise to fame as the UK’s leading tea-time biscuit. After Abraham delivers his famous and emotional Battenburg Address the epic journey begins.

Spielberg explains the main premise behind the movie, “In a nation divided by two world wars, cake consumption and the strong winds of change, the Lincoln pursues a course of action designed to unite the country over afternoon tea and to abolish slavery to the chocolate chip cookie and the custard cream.

With the moral courage and fierce determination to succeed, the Lincoln breaks into the UK corner shop market during this critical moment to change the biscuit eating habits of generations to come.”

Critics have hailed the piece as Spielberg’s finest, “From the moment Abraham McVitie gets the dough to produce his first biscuit to the thrilling climax when Sally Field bites into her final Ginger Nut I was totally hooked,” said Mark Kermode. “This is Day-Lewis’ best performance since his roll (sic) in The Last of the Digestives.”

Lincoln the Biscuit will be on general release from 21 January and looks set to break broken biscuit records.
