What the hell has Dr Smug got against broccoli? I love broccoli. Most of my friends love broccoli. I will freely admit that I occasionally binge broccoli. I like sprouts too and have great concern that many people abstain from them for all but one day of the year.
Dr Smug should stick to his "how big is the average cock" television show and keep his business out of my veg.

Had some bottles of Innis and Gunn beer given to me. Really good for jaded tastebuds. Lovely stuff, especially the rum finish ones. I know it's a bit poncy, but it does help to revive after a shite Christmas and New Year.

Unfortunately the 4fun Dryathlon starts some time next Monday alongside the 'stopeatingallthatfoodyoufatsod40%overweightcannotbegoodforyou 2013' event.

For when it's all over (say by next Friday) b-j - have you an expert's view on 'Stumbles Vineyards Malbec 2011'? A couple of bottles arrived in a 'wine club for the lazy' box and I enjoyed it so much I kept the bottle for future reference. Of course it may just have been the knock-on effect of the several large Wh & Ging stiffeners earlier in the evening.

Jeni: Not an aluminium bottle, more like a milk bottle and I'm afraid it would cost far to much to send. It'll find its way over the border eventually. I understand that Scotland has the highest per capita consumption of Vodka so it would be a good market.

Yes Mary, I entered the Dryathlon on 1 January and fell off on Friday 4th (6.45pm), although fortunately I was still a little pissed from New Years Eve...

Riesler, Espresso Martinis are the gods' own nectar.
Had my first one about 9yrs ago during a bit of a lost weekend in LA, and have never looked back.
It is my goal to sniff out any and every establishment which serves them wherever I am in the world.
Also try Chocolate, Mint Choc, and White Choc and Coffee variations, I swear they will become your 'fix'.

Beau, is that the vodka in the aluminium looking bottle? If so, do you do mail order?!
I had some of that at a friend's house before Christmas and it's almost as good as Espresso Martini.
I'm also doing my best for the local licensed premises by resolving to drink more.

Mary, my lovely, I resolved a very long time ago to never make New Year resolutions, as the sense of abject failure was always too much to deal with at about 6pm on January 1st.

I somehow read that as 'I've just started snorting black cow vodka'.

I wouldn't recommend that. Tried it with sambuca before and it wasn't pleasant.

Riesler - thank you for drawing my attention to that unutterable pish. I used to feel bad about thinking that Dr Christian looked like he'd been put in Willy Wonka's gum-stretching machine. Conscience salved.

And beau-jolly, I'm a community-minded kind of a gal so if I can't support your enterprise in person, I'll just have to help your brethren in SW London.

Thunder Toffee Vodka was big hit this year. Totally adictive!

I've just started stocking Black Cow vodka. Made in Dorset from milk! Oh yes it is!

It does look like Dr.Smug was scratching around for a reason to be contrary.
Here's a much better reason why stopping drinking in January is bad: I own a wine shop and a pub for Christ sake! Keep drinking please!

I did make a resolution this year that I would not claim to be the son of God.

So far so good, but I did come close. The girl at the local Tesco Express looked like she needed a shock to kick her into life, but I found the store defibrillator was enough to get her moving

No, me neither. Willpower fell victim to a hot chap with a cold Prosecco on Jan 2nd. In oh so many ways.

Anyone else got a resolution still in tact?
