And when we do it certainly won’t involve fireworks or family pets this time.’</p> <p>Slightly crestfallen Mr Smith conceded, ‘Strictly speaking my new year’s eve didn’t actually end until about 6am yesterday following the arrest and by the time I had been bailed and released from the station it was getting on for tea time. But I did then go straight home and passed out on the settee without a second thought for a pint or bottle of scotch.’</p> <p>A spokesman for Alcohol Concern, who wished to remain anonymous, commented ‘ This is a great achievement, we are behind Norman 57.15% ABV. I am sure Norman will succeed with the support of his wife and a just a little more understanding from the RSPCA inspectorate.’</p> <p>Mr Smith is due to appear before Derby magistrates in February. </p>
