Buckingham Palace as confirmed that ‘It regrets’ the decision to allow Sky News to film this year’s royal address following the announcement by the broadcaster that it will be only available to subscribers to its sports channels.

The speech which Sky has confirmed ‘Contains 10 minutes of Unmissable monologue’ will have its first-half broadcast on Sky Sports 1, with coverage of the second-half switching to Sky Sports 4 to catch-out those who do not yet subscribe to all the channels.

Rupert Murdoch, Rebekkah Brooks and Andy Coulson will be present in the studio as royal pundits and will shout loudly and gesticulate wildly to each other in response to Her Majesty’s comments. The pundits are expected to shout even louder if the speech fails to mention the concerns of ordinary Britons ‘Such as the cost of leccy, booze and fags’ said Coulson.

The speech, which is available in HD, and 3D for those who pay additional subscriptions, is said to be action-packed and will feature footage of British olympic success and will also briefly show the little swimmer who won a paralympic gold.

The BBC has confirmed that it will broadcast last year’s speech instead ‘After all not much has changed’ explained Chris Patten ‘Except for the Royal marriage, Her Majesty’s jubilee, the Olympics and the imminent arrival of a Royal baby. And don’t forget a 45-second snippet of this year’s speech will be broadcast by the BBC on Boxing Day. Alan Hansen is lined-up to comment on it.’
