There now follows a better acceptance speech than Bradley Wiggins' at the Sports Personality of the Year awards ...

Or maybe not. Very surprised (Dick Everyman would have been my choice but it wasn't mine to make), but thanks very much. Slightly concerned that I have the baton again so shortly after running with it previously. The pressure is very much back on me to think of something inspiring but I'm really not sure that a bottle of Rioja I bought for four euros in a Madrid supermarket last week is the best method of getting inspiration.

New Neat-O to follow shortly

This week's neat-o certainly revealed the in depth capability of our regular neat-o contributors to handle the subject of “relief”. Most contributors had a good grasp of that. Not everyone seemed to have the same success with the “comic” bit. After a slow start some very good contributions emerged.

Gerontius entertained with the cartoon character piece and I especially liked the research that must have gone into the PFSLD line.
Psycadelic Squirrel aimed his humour at the recent technological failings of the Newsbiscuit server and is to be applauded for “faulty comic relief valve” concept.
Dick Everyman provided the best closing line with “not strictly hieroglyphs but are more like comic reliefs.”
Midfield Diamond scored heavily with a concept that made the Dandy on-line sound dodgy just because it was on-line.
Malgor's Big Fight was great building on a recent celebrated FP and Madame Coco provided a trip down memory lane to the days when scandals were much more entertaining.
The winner:-
The one that produced the biggest smirk for me, being a ticker fan, was Midfield Diamond's 'Pervert arrested in internet cafe after accessing Dandy on-line'
Brief, on-target and amusing, well done.
