He left the room, I let rip, started crying with laughter and Sue took the photo. It was on Facebook the next day and the agency offered me £150 for the rights, so I said fine”.</p> <p>“A week later I got sent a link by a friend to a BBC story about how women on their periods kill more people in the UK than drug addicts, and there was the photo of me with the caption ‘Menstrual crime on the rise’. Obviously my new boyfriend suddenly stopped calling me”.</p> <p>Amy revealed how the photo had then been used for stories about breast cancer, IVF failure, bipolar disorder and now unhappiness at being a low-salary failure.</p> <p>“My friends have deserted me thinking I’m an emotional train wreck, my last blind date recognised me as ‘that drunk bird who made the toilet but forgot some basics’ and the last article was enough to lose me my job. So thanks BBC. I actually used to be funny and content. Now they’ve turned me into the mental loser they wanted.” </p>
