The video shows the gentleman in the High Street slipping on a banana skin. He then, unfortunately, hit his head on the pavement and was pronounced dead at the scene by the emergency services. The owner of a nearby fruit and vegetable stall also fell about and was treated for aching ribs.</p> <p>‘It’s just so painful to watch,’ said the dead man’s son, ‘particularly the slow-motion replay. By about the third time of watching, it hurts so much it makes you cry. My mate Danny came round last night for a few cans and stuff, and honestly, the third time he watched it, he literally killed himself and had lager coming down his nose.’</p> <p>‘Of course I’m cracked up about my dad,’ he said, wiping his eyes, ‘because he’s not here to see the video himself. He used to love those old Charlie Chaplin films.’</p> <p>The video is to be added to the family archive, filed in ‘favourites’ next to mobile phone footage of his late uncle at last year’s summer barbeque when a sudden gust of wind blew out the end wall of a rickety old wooden barn. ‘That was classic,’ he said; ‘a few inches to the left and he’d have been standing in just the right spot to fit through the gap where the window was missing.’ </p>
