As you say it needs a bit more work. </p> http://newsbiscuit.com/forum/topic.php?id=52432#post-150904 Wed, 28 Nov 2012 07:46:44 +0000 Gerontius 150904@http://newsbiscuit.com/forum/ <p>King of the slapstick, Fred Karno has been named by chancellor George Osborne as the next governor of the Bank of England.<br /> Fred, widely credited with inventing the ‘pie-in-the face’ gag will take up his pie-flinging duties early next year and promises to bring a smile to the face of even those desperate unfortunates about to lose their homes, job or business.<br /> Chancellor ‘Ollie’ Osborne said he thought Mr.Karno was the right choice for the job and would fit in seamlessly with ‘all the other hapless comedians trying to run the country’ and was in no doubt the banker would soon be entertaining the public with his own style of inept tomfoolery.<br /> Prime Minister David ‘Keystone’ Cameron - who has promised to help Karno move a piano into his 3rd floor apartment over the weekend - agreed the appointment was ‘an inspired’ choice and he looked forward to working on some new slapstick routines with the comedy giant.<br /> ‘Maybe we could knock about together or poke a few mentals’ said Keystone, carelessly tossing a banana-skin on the steps of the bank......<br /> But there are already fears that Karno will find it tough going at the Bank of England after the Tory party's own comedy giant reared his ugly head.<br /> Regulators warned it would be virtually impossible for Karno to get a pie into the bank without it passing through Communities Secretary Eric ‘Porky’ Pickles first.<br /> Although the side-splitting Pickles has been providing the UK with belly laughs for over 20 years he should be taken seriously.<br /> OK.....that last bit's impossible....will need to work on it a bit more. </p>
