It's late so my grammar won't be the bestest. Or the attempted comedy

Following the huge popularity of internet crazes like ‘planking’ and ‘milking’, a new trend is rapidly gaining notoriety amongst British students and is soon to be the fastest growing internet waste of time ever.

‘Learning’ is believed to have been started at the academic powerhouse Liverpool John Moores University and involves students filming each other taking part in a variety of ridiculous activities that attempt to improve their knowledge and allow them to pass a sole exam each year.

A 30 minute video posted on YouTube last week that showed a group of journalism students attending one of their 3 lectures attracted 50,000 views in its first week. The ridiculous and unusual behaviour has prompted other students to follow suit as more videos are posted each day. The most recent, 5 Lincoln University Media Studies students sitting quietly in a library reading through their course notes, amassed over 500,000 hits in 4 days.

Keith Waterman, who posted the original ‘learning’ video online couldn’t believe how popular his skit has become in the UK.

“After a hard days standing perfectly still in strange locations and pouring dairy products over my body in a busy shopping centre me and my mates were trying to think of something outrageous we could do. Then it hit me. Why not do something with this 3 year free ride and actually go to some of the £9,000 per year lectures my parents are paying for”.

The pointless activity, despite over a billion likes on its Facebook fan page, is causing concern for Education Secretary Michael Gove who believes these kinds of fads are more harmless than fun.

“This irresponsible behaviour should be nipped in the bud immediately” the Pob-faced politician argued. “If all students actually started learning stuff then this would lead to a generation of adults who might actually realise we’re pretty shit at running the country. Plus we need De Montford class graduates so there is a stream of workers able to serve burgers to Eric Pickles for him to stuff in his stupid fat face”.
