However, Foreign Secretary and official party kit designer William Hague defended the new colours, arguing 'we debated long and hard about just how much yellow should be included in the new kit, and this is just one of the many tough decisions we will have to make in this difficult times.'</p> <p>The change is however thought to be popular with new summer signings Clegg, Cable and Huhne, and one thing hasn't changed is that 'Lord Ashcroft' still emblazoned across the front as the main shirt sponsor.</p> <p>Their main rivals for the title and former champions Labour are thought to be sticking with their all red strip, except for away matches in Wales where the shirt will feature some dark green as well. In contrast to the Tories there remains some doubt over who will be their main shirt sponsor for new season following some recent disagreements with current main sponsors Unite.</p> <p>Critics have argued that the parties shouldn't be allowed such influential sponsors, fearing that their influence might affect their performance on the pitch. However, measures are now in place to prevent individual players from receiving payments from individual sponsors as happened on a few occasions last season</p> <p>There is also uncertainty within the Labour party over who will wear the captain's armband, and supporters are also concerned that their squad is not as big as it was last season, whilst Tory supporters are still arguing amongst themselves as whether or not they should play in Europe next season. </p>
