The extension allows people over the age of 18 to be removed from situations where there is a danger to their physical or mental health and placed into alternative foster care.</p> <p>Concerns have been mounting since the formation of the Coalition that Mr Clegg is slowly becoming indoctrinated with Tory ideology. This is something he denies but a history of U-turns and a ’backseat’ stance whilst in the care of the Coalition have led to fears that his mental welfare has been affected. </p> <p>Social workers first became concerned following reports of a growing unpopularity with both his peers and constituents, “The signs were there quite early on,” said “Anastasia Llewellyn, head of Children Services in Sheffield, “so, in the light of recent criticisms we felt that it was necessary to intervene and remove him from his current foster Care situation.”</p> <p>Concerns were also raised over his physical health with reports of the Deputy Leader chain smoking behind the House of Common’s bike shed. Mr Clegg denied this and blamed “tell-tale twits” for the rumours.</p> <p>A Coalition spokesman said, “Whilst in our care we have done the utmost to shield our charge from extreme Tory views and undesirable elements within the general political arena. But there is only so much you can do to protect your average 45 year old from harm.”</p> <p>Sheffield Social Services have now assumed Parental Responsibility and will determine, after consultation with other agencies, where Mr Clegg will be best placed to secure his future.</p> <p>Under the Care Order terms and conditions Mr Clegg has not been allowed to comment.</p> <p>“This is nothing new though,“ said a senior Tory party official. </p>
