			<description>&#60;p&#62;In a shock report, regulators have disclosed that Savile Protection Insurance was being sold by the BBC as late as last Wednesday, more than a year after Savile’s well deserved funeral. The problems surrounding the selling of SPI were first raised over ten years ago: many victims were unaware that they were buying the insurance, thinking that it was an entrance ticket for Top Of The Pops, Jim’ll Fix It or Broadmoor. The regulator has pointed out that, for most people, the insurance was worthless, with exclusion clauses often preventing victims from claiming. One victim, who was groped by Savile, had her claim rejected due to a pre-existing condition. “They said that I was just the sort of crumpet that Jimmy fancies”.&#60;br /&#62;
A spokesman for the BBC said. ”These practices stopped before I took up my present post (last Thursday) and current procedures and practices mean that it can never happen again”. He urged anybody who thinks that they have been miss-sold SPI to contact the BBC and not to use SPI claims agents, (see advertisements on pages 48 to 52).
