If there were 11 they could play for the same team!

The nightmare scenario. You've given me a better ending. Thanks...

Over the last ten years David Beckham seemed to be everywhere, and now we know why. The iconic clothes horse and sometimes footballer was cloned almost ten years ago.

“There was just too much for one David Beckham to do”, admits Barry Briggs, the players' agent. “Playing football, having a new haircut, endorsing products, posing in his underpants, smiling that vacuous smile, going on chat shows, promoting 'Brand Beckham', plugging some ghost-written book, making ‘red carpet’ appearances with his pouty wife, racking up the air miles, fronting London’s Olympic bid and being the owner of the most punchable face in football since Gary Neville hung up his boots.

“It’s working well. We now have half a dozen David Beckhams doing the celebrity self-promotion circuit, and a few more warming the substitutes’ bench. While one David Beckham is going through the motions at LA Galaxy, another one is sat at home playing with his thumbs. Yet another clone is negotiating ‘one last challenge’ with a couple of Australian football clubs. We now have enough David Beckhams to field an entire football team. Hang on, now I think about it, that's not such a bad idea”...
