The Met Office has unveiled its latest predictions for the next 12 months. According to its experts, we'll all be travelling to work by time machine, protein pills will be the national dish and the lucky few will enjoy holidays on Mars.

And we could even enjoy a barbeque summer, it said.

But it's not all good news. The study, by respected climate change expert and acclaimed futurologist Keith Simpkins, warned that Britain could be sleep walking into oblivion, unless we all radically change the way we behave, interact with each other and consume, and follow a lifestyle more in line with Simkins own current thought processes.

If we don't, we could all die. Or worse, he explains. 'I don't think I am being unnecessarily alarmist when I say...'
