Apparently she regards it as a sign that she has been forgiven for her latest indiscretion and is now being welcomed back into the extended family.</p> <p>‘I can understand they were a bit miffed with my little bit of silliness when that story first broke, but I am glad they have now had a few days to calm down and realise what’s really important in life’ she said. ‘After all, blood is thicker than water, isn’t it, and they obviously think I am too.’</p> <p>The Duchess is particularly pleased that the event could take place as early as this month. ‘I thought I was going to have to wait until the Glorious Twelfth, but Beatrice saw a cutting from Andrew’s shooting magazine with one bit about seasons highlighted saying “In addition to the species listed, some mammals are classified as 'pests' and may be shot all year round.”</p> <p>‘You know, I think they may even have arranged it just for me. All the best shots have been invited, and I’ve heard Prince Philip has even bought a new gun especially for the occasion. Diana may have got a better financial deal, but she never got welcomed back like this.’ </p>
