Slight rewrite

Six backebench MPS have been disciplined for revealing parliamentary secrets during work as paid consultants on a video game, officials say.

They received reprimand letters and had half of their pay docked for two months for work on the games Call of Duty: Three Line Whip and Call of Duty : The Cod Wars.

The games, published by Electronic Arts, does not recreate the recent high profile back bench rebellions but purports to show realistic debates, votes, fillibustering and all the pomp and ceremony of the State Opening of Parliament. The franchise also attempts to recreate the great historical debates, constituional and national crises.

In recent years the Call of Duty : Three Line Whip series has been quite controversial with the expenses scandal being one of the more controversial online add-ons.

In June 2012 a system that rewards good behaviour was introduced and is helping make online version of the game more pleasant to play.

The hugely popular political known for its toxic chat channels, and the abuse players heap upon each other using Parliamentary language, as well as the use over use of Parliamentary Privilege to name and shame.
