Perhaps it should also turn out to be the only one not to appear in the sale?

A sofa discovered in the home of an elderly couple in the West Midlands is believed to the only known case of a DFS sofa being sighted outside a DFS store.

The sofa - described by witnesses as a 'crimson two seater electric recliner pay nothing until Easter 2013' - was found in the living room of Wolverhampton couple Elsie and Bert O'Malley by a visiting grandson.

'I was gobsmacked,' said Jeremy Gates (20). 'Of course I've seen these things on television after the nine o' clock watershed, but meeting one in real life was a shock I can tell you.'

Mr Gates has been offered counselling by Wolverhampton social services trauma unit.

Mr and Mrs O'Malley say they didn't buy the sofa and have no idea how it arrived in their living room.

The couple are reported to be upset and embarrassed by the incident.

'They've gone for a long lie down,' a neighbour said.

A Furniture Village purple leather sofa found in a Walsall flat in 2011 was safely destroyed by an army bomb disposal unit.
