City insiders are warning that claims for wrongly paid Direct Debits to Savile charities ‘will annoy the banks even more.’</p> <p>‘The banks have shown no signs of preparing themselves for the onslaught of claims,’ said one insider, ‘it’s as though they haven’t acknowledged their role in facilitating payments taken from the accounts of people who were, frankly, mis-sold charity donations.’</p> <p>Solicitors Jack Reed &amp; Co acting for potential claimants have already started cold-calling people they have identified as ‘vulnerable’. ‘Many of these people have been victims of a scam for many years,’ said barrister Fenton Jack, ‘in which they believed they were donating to a charity whose patron was a beloved Knight of the Realm, honoured for his great charitable deeds and admired for his services to entertainment, not a fucking paedo.’ </p>
