Insiders also suggested that that series 3 had been dealt a mortal blow by the prolonged spin doctors strike which led to desperate executives lifting plotlines wholesale from the eighties smash hit "The Thatcher Years". One longtime fan said 'I remember the original Arthur Scargill, and Bob Crow just doesn't measure up'.

Now I think this is a good idea for a sub, but what i'd like some feedback on is why I didn't get a dickie bird for my post yesterday? http://newsbiscuit.com/forum/topic.php?id=5009

Even one star would have been something (or is that actually worse than being ignored completely? I'll ask Oscar Wilde) but it got totally passed by. Was it overdone? Or just plain unfunny?

Regular viewers of Downing Street were left feeling let down by the finale of the New Labour series that was axed at the end of season 3.

Many viewers had found that the series had lost its way after the declaration of war that was broadly seen as an attempt to revive interest following flagging ratings and the susbsequent departure of the once popular lead character Tony.

The end scene that saw Gordon walk into the sunset hand in hand with his family was considered by many to be a tacky and sentimental.

New Labour is to be replaced by The Coalition which critics already predict will not make it beyond series 1.
